Alex Pietrangelo has missed the previous three games with an illness and isn't travelling with the Vegas Golden Knights as they start their road trip against the St. Louis Blues.

Pietrangelo was drafted by the Blues back in 2008 and played 758 games with the team. Pietrangelo also won a Stanley Cup with the Blues in 2019.

The Golden Knights have a 2-1-0 record since Pietrangelo was reported to be out with an illness. Tonight's matchup against the Blues is a critical game. The Blues are four points back of the Golden Knights for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

The Golden Knights have been outstanding defensively without Pietrangelo holding their opponents to under 25 shots in four straight games.

The newly formed pairing of Nicolas Hague and Noah Hanifin has been outstanding.

Hanifin was one of the three big deadline acquisitions and has played a critical part in the Golden Knights' recent success.

Ivan Barbashev will play his former team. The Golden Knights acquired the Barbashev from the Blues at last season's trade deadline. The 28-year-old forward has two assists in the two games they've played against the Blues this season.
