HC Bruce Cassidy spoke to the media after today's practice and said both Tomas Hertl and Nicolas Roy will be out of the Vegas Golden Knights lineup against the Arizona Coyotes.
Roy picked up an injury at the end of the previous game against the Vancouver Canucks and didn't practice today. Brendan Brisson was called up as his replacement and skated with Brett Howden and Keegan Kolesar.
"Nic had a little bit of an injury at the game the other night so we're giving him maintenance days," said Cassidy. "It won't be anything long-term but something he needs a couple of days for."
The team is coming back to Vegas after their game in Arizona tomorrow. With Hertl out of the lineup, he won't travel with the team.
"Sunday when we practice I'll have a better idea of how it's shaping out for our Vancouver and Edmonton trip."
After Friday's game against the Coyotes the Golden Knights will have just six games remaining on their schedule. Every point matters right now as they are in a close race for the second spot in the Pacific Division. If Hertl is available against the Edmonton Oilers and the Vancouver Canucks, he'll provide an offensive spark for the Golden Knights.
