Soo Greyhounds prospect Kalyn McQueen was named the GOHL Prospect of the Week by the OHL for week 13. But a member of the Greyhounds has won the OHL Player of the Week.

Sault Ste. Marie forward Christopther Brown was named the OHL Player of the Week for week 13.

In 2024-25, Brown dealt with an injury that kept him out of the lineup for the middle of the season. His production dropped significantly, recording 0.27 points per game, but he’s back and healthy, and proving that the Greyhounds made the right choice selecting him 16th overall in the first round of the 2022 draft.

The Greyhounds went 3-0, taking down Kitchener, Brampton, and Owen Sound last week. The team scored 13 goals, and Brown factored in on seven of them. The Toronto, Ontario, native was named the second star in their game against the Rangers after recording a goal and two assists, scoring the overtime game-winner.

Brown capped off the weekend with a dazzling display against the Attack, earning first star of the game, while recording one goal and three assists for the first four-point game of his OHL career.

Brown’s redemption arc is in full effect. He is third on the Greyhounds in points with 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points in 32 games. He’s tied with Jordan Charron for the most even-strength points on the team with 24. And his +19 rating is tops amongst Greyhounds’ forwards.

With Sault Ste. Marie, captain and number one center, Brady Martin, representing Canada at the 2026 World Juniors, will need Brown to step up in his absence.
