The 18-year-old should hear his name called later this week at the NHL draft.

It's shaping up to be a big week for Lucien Bernat.

Firstly, the Owen Sound Attack announced the signing of the Slovakian forward to an OHL deal, giving him a new team to play for next season. Secondly, it's his year for the NHL draft, and it's expected he'll hear his name called at this year's NHL draft at some point on Saturday.

Bernat, 18, was Owen Sound's second-round pick in the 2025 CHL import draft. He played last season with the Tappara U20 system in Finland, which was his third season with the team, working up the youth ranks in the country.

In 37 games with the U20s last season for Tappara, the 6-foot-4 winger put up 15 goals and 16 assists for 31 points.

Bernat developed as a youngster with the HOBA Bratislava youth system, and has been a part of many Slovakian youth teams from the U16 to U18 levels. Most recently, he put up a goal and three assists in seven games at last month's U18 world championships.

For the Attack, he should provide some good size and inside scoring ability to a team looking to jump into the top half of the Eastern conference standings for next season.
