The 17-year-old will add some size and skill to Erie's forward group next season.

The OHL is fully into its off-season now, and teams across the league are working on filling out their rosters ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

The Erie Otters took a step towards that on Thursday, announcing the signing of American forward Anton Gesink.

Gesink, 17, played last season in the Canadian prep school circuit with Ridley College. In 57 games at the CAHS level, he had 24 goals and 36 assists for 60 points.

The Wilmette, IL, native should provide a boost in size and skill to Erie's forward group, with his 6-foot-2 stature and history of being a scorer a boost for the Otters.

Erie is a team coming off a last-placed finish in the 2025-26 Western conference, and scored the third-fewest goals in the OHL.

They selected forward Colin Kennedy second overall in last week's OHL draft, and will hope this injection of young talent will help them score more goals and push back into the playoffs.
