The Michigan State commit will join Saginaw for the 2026-27 campaign.
The Saginaw Spirit have been a hotbed for American talent signing in the OHL in recent years.
On Friday, they announced a new member to that crew, with USNTDP defenseman Tyler Martyniuk, the team's sixth-round pick in the 2024 OHL draft.
Martyniuk, 17, is a Michigan State commit. He put up three assists in four games at the recent U18 worlds and played all of last season with the national team development program.
The 6-foot tall blueliner came up through the Honeybaked program out of Michigan, before joining the NTDP at the U17 level in 2024-25.
In Saginaw, Martyniuk will meet plenty of other Americans, such as the recently signed Kade Meyer, as well as stalwarts Nikita Klepov and Levi Harper.
To join the Spirit, he pushed his NCAA commitment back, though it's likely he'll join up with the Spartans in the next couple of years.
