With two games passed in the second round, it's time to take a look at where the series are heading.

    Moncton Wildcats (2) - Baie-Comeau Drakkar (0)

The No. 1 Moncton Wildcats have spent no time on their backfoot, as they have dominated last year's QMJHL playoff finalists, the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, so far this series. The team has outscored the Drakkar 11-1 so far, with 2025 NHL draft prospect Caleb Desnoyers contributing three, himself. While the Drakkar are a strong team, it is really hard to see them coming back in this series with the way momentum has swung so far in favour of the Wildcats.

    Halifax Mooseheads (0) - Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (2)

After starting the playoffs pulling the upset of the playoffs with a win over the reigning QMJHL champions as the 16th seed, the Halifax Mooseheads have seemingly lost steam for their series against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. The Huskies have scored nine goals, only allowing one, across the two games. Overager Ty Higgins (2+3) and 2025 NHL draft eligible centerman Bill Zonnon (3+2) both have been series MVPs, both with five points. As it stands, it's likely that if the Mooseheads' offense continues to struggle, the series will likely end before the series returns to Rouyn-Noranda.

    Rimouski Océanic (2) - Chicoutimi Saguenéens (0)

After a leisurely first round, the Océanic have faced a tougher opponent in the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. If not for impressive showings from goaltender Mathis Langevin (60/64), the series could easily be 1-1. Despite Rimouski taking the first two games, the Sags could bounceback if they are able to find a way to break Langevin.

    Shawinigan Cataractes (2) - Sherbrooke Phoenix (0)

Much like the series between the Océanic and the Sags, the Sherbrooke vs Shawinigan series feels tighter -- despite the 2-0 sway for Shawinigan. Game 1 ended 5-4 in favour of Shawinigan. While Shawinigan's scoring has come from all through the lineup this series, Sherbooke's has been concentrated -- with Felix Ouellet potting four points (2+2) over two games. If Sherbrooke's goaltender Linards Feldbergs can lock in -- as he did at the World Juniors and in the playoffs last season in Latvia where he won finals MVP -- and the team can buy some goals from their depth pieces, Sherbrooke could swing the series the other way.
