Mercier picks up five points in bombastic win over the Sea Dogs

The Saint John Sea Dogs were no match for the Moncton Wildcats who trampled them 8-0. It was a storybook win for Wildcats GM Gardiner MacDougall, picked up his 50th career regular season win in the QMJHL against the very team he helped win a Memorial Cup just a few seasons ago. Moncton Wildcats forward Alex Mercier scored a hat trick alongside two assists in the win. Alongside him, St. Louis Blues prospect winger Juraj Pekarcik potted four points (1+3) and both Utah prospect centerman Gabe Smith (1+2) and 2025 NHL draft prospect centerman Caleb Desnoyers added three (1+2). The loss doesn't bode well for the Sea Dogs, who remain just outside of the Top 16.
