The 15th annual NHLPA Rookie Showcase is right around the corner, and three former QMJHL players have been invited to the event on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Jordan Dumais (CBJ), Cam Squires (NJ) and Frederic Brunet (BOS) are among the 30 names to attend this year's event, which is hosted to showcase the top rookie talent around the NHL.
Dumais, 21, starred in his four seasons for the Halifax Mooseheads, scoring 325 (119+206) points in 193 games. He won the Michel-Brière trophy as the QMJHL's most valuable player in 2022-23 after a 140-point campaign, and played for Canada at the World Juniors in 2024.
Dumais was a third-round pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2022 NHL entry draft, and played last season with the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL, posting 11 (4+7) points in 21 games.
The 20-year-old Squires is the youngest of the three QMJHL representatives, just finishing his fourth season with the Cape Breton Eagles as an assistant captain. The 6-foot-1 winger scored a total of 245 (103+142) points in 255 games in his career.

The New Jersey Devils selected Squires in the fourth round of the 2023 draft, and he played four games for their AHL affiliate Utica Comets after the Eagles' playoff elimination, recording a goal and three assists.
Brunet, 22, played three full seasons in the QMJHL with the Rimouski Océanic and Victoriaville Tigres, scoring 128 (29+99) points in 163 games across his career. The 6-foot-3 defenseman was a fifth-round pick by the Boston Bruins in 2022, playing one NHL game in 2024-25 while spending the rest of his first two pro seasons with the Providence Bruins of the AHL.
