The former St. Louis Blues draft pick will play at the newest NCAA D1 hockey program.

As overage talent graduates out of the CHL, they now have more options than ever to pick where they'll continue their hockey careers.

For Quebec's Antoine Dorion, he's picked an interesting path, joining Maryville University for next season.

Maryville is the newest NCAA D1 hockey program, but will not officially compete in a conference until the 2027-28 campaign. For next year, they'll act as an independent school, playing top competition but not being officially enrolled in any conference.

Dorion, 20, had 23 (9+14) points in 41 games with the Remparts last season, his third with the team.

An 11th-round OHL draft pick in the 2021 draft, the Orleans, Ont., native never signed in Kingston, playing a couple of seasons with the Hawkesbury Hawks of the CCHL.

Then, he was let go, and signed in the QMJHL with Quebec. Dorion became a solid middle-six contributor with the Remparts, ending his career wearing an 'A' on his jersey at the end of his overage season.

His play in 2023-24 was enough for the St. Louis Blues to select him in the seventh round of the 2024 NHL draft.

Now, he'll get to be part of a pretty cool opportunity with a new program at a top University, nearby to the team that drafted him to the NHL.
