After playing his rookie season in Cape Breton, Alexis Toussaint will be headed to Chicoutimi for his sophomore year, as the Saguenéens acquired the young centre for a 2026 sixth-round pick Sunday morning.
Toussaint, 18, put up three goals and four assists in 59 games last season with the Eagles, his first after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2023 QMJHL draft.
The 6-foot-1 pivot will look to see his role grow on his new team, as he spent most of last season as a bottom-six centre.

This move marks the third of a busy Sunday morning for Cape Breton, as they also acquired defenseman Jacob de Ladurantaye from Gatineau, and sent overage forward Luke Patterson to Rimouski.
As of now, Toussaint does not have any commitments with a USports or NCAA program, and will likely need to flaunt more of a scoring touch to get any looks down south.

After helping the Moncton Wildcats win a QMJHL championship, Maxime Cote will not return to the Wildcats for his overage season, as the forward has been dealt to the Gatineau Olympiques in exchange for a third round pick.
