USports recruiting season is in full swing, and UQTR Patriotes have landed on some big fish from the QMJHL.

The biggest land is Shawinigan Cataractes defenseman Isaac Menard.

Menard, 21, had 23 points (5+18) across 40 games this season while donning the 'A'. Playing all five seasons in the QMJHL with the Cataractes -- he'd tally 142 points (25+117) over 257 games with the squad.

He and the Cataractes would win the QMJHL championship in 2021-22, ultimately faltering in the Memorial Cup finals despite his three point (0+3) performance over four games.

Menard isn't the only familiar joining the team as they also landed recent Saguenéens overager and four season veteran Charles-Antoine Lavallee, four season veteran Vincent Filion and three season veteran Mathis Perron.

Lavallee, 21, is coming off of a split season, marking seven points (5+2) across 13 games with Chicoutimi this season while also amassing 52 points (29+23) over 33 games in the MJAHL for the Amherst Ramblers. Lavallee's major junior career spanned 150 games, where he scored 62 points (33+29) as a member of the Gatineau Olympiques, Baie-Comeau Drakkar, Cape Breton Eagles and the aforementioned Sags.

Filion, 21, manned the crease for the AJHL's Fort McMurray Oil Barons, posting a .911 save percentage over 43 games. Before then, he marked an .877 save percentage through 111 games in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats, Rimouski Océanic and the Quebec Remparts.

Perron, 21, too played for the Amherst Ramblers, tallying 83 points (31+52) over 50 games this season. Previously, Perron notched 96 points (35+61) across 182 games with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
