The 6-foot-2 defender is another piece to Moncton's blue line rebuild this summer.
The Moncton Wildcats have done a ton of work remaking their defensive corps this summer, and have just added another piece to that group with the signing of Chris Baird-Gajdos on Tuesday.
Baird-Gajdos, 18, comes over to the QMJHL after one year in the USHL with the Madison Capitols. He was traded from Madison to the Waterloo Black Hawks this summer, but has opted to head up to Canada for the 2026-27 campaign instead.
The Clarence, NY, native is seen as more of a physical and defensive blueliner, putting up three goals, 10 assists and 64 penalty minutes in 49 games last year in Madison.
Now, he'll join a remade Wildcats blueliner that's already added names like Myles Brosnan, Shayne Gould and Jake Boguniecki this summer, and looks like one of the top defensive groups in the league once again, even with the departure of Tommy Bleyl.
It seems like there's never any days off in Moncton, as the back-to-back finalists continue to find avenues to add talent and keep their level high.
Baird-Gajdos is not committed to any NCAA school as of now, but a strong QMJHL season will get a ton of eyes on him from south of the border.
