    The second round of the 2024 WHL Playoffs kicked off on Friday with all eight teams in action. All four higher seeds captured their first win of the second round, with each game being separated by at least three goals. Here is a look back at all the action from April 12.

    Swift Current Broncos 7, Moose Jaw Warriors 2
    Series: Swift Current Leads 1-0

    The Swift Current Broncos kicked off their second-round series in style with a 7-2 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors. Josh Filmon was the story as he scored twice, including the game-winner, and recorded an assist in the win. In total, ten players found the scoresheet from Swift Current, including Connor Hvidston and Mathew Ward who each had a goal and two assists on the night. 

    Saskatoon Blades 4, Red Deer Rebels 1
    Series: Saskatoon Leads 1-0

    The Saskatoon Blades took care of business in Game 1 as they defeated the Red Deer Rebels 4-1. In a solid defensive game from both sides, Saskatoon was able to limit Red Deer to only 17 shots on the night. In the end, Fraser Minten was the difference for the Blades, as his two goals and one assist powered Saskatoon to victory and a 1-0 series lead.

    Portland Winterhawks 8, Everett Silvertips 2
    Series: Portland Leads 1-0

    In the battle of the U.S. Division rivals, the Portland Winterhawks dominated Game 1, defeating the Everett Silvertips 8-2. Tyson Jugnauth was sensational for the Winterhawks, scoring twice and adding an assist in the victory. Portland also received multi-point efforts from Nate Danielson, Kyle Chyzowski, and Josh Davies as Portland improved to 5-0 this postseason.

    Prince Geroge Cougars 4, Kelowna Rockets 0
    Series: Prince George Leads 1-0

    Joshua Ravensbergen stopped all 21 shots he faced for his first career playoffs shutout as the Prince George Cougars defeated the Kelowna Rockets 4-0 in Game 1. It was a night of firsts for Prince George as Ephram McNutt's first career postseason goal stood up as the winner. The Cougars also received multi-point performances from Terik Parascak and Zac Funk as Prince George remains perfect in the 2024 WHL Playoffs.
