Two East vs West contests and a rivalry for the ages highlight the upcoming WHL weekend.

Part of the beauty of hockey is having a storyline to follow, and these three games in particular pop out as not only unusual, but quite intriguing.
Seattle Thunderbirds v Brandon Wheat Kings
After starting the season with a less-than-stellar 1-4-1-0 record, Seattle has strung themselves together a three game win streak. Looking to make it four in Brandon, the Thunderbirds will be without leading scorer Nathan Pilling as he serves game one of a two game suspension. In Brandon, leading the way is veteran Marcus Nguyen with 12 points in his first 10 contests.
Everett Silvertips v Portland Winterhawks
Portland looks to snap a three game losing skid, as well as get revenge on the Everett squad that posted eight goals on the Hawks in late September. Forward Kyle Chyzowski will attempt to keep his torrid pace, currently sitting at 17 points in 10 games. The Silvertips are eyeing the role of spoiler, not having played since October 12th against the Swift Current Broncos. In that matchup, Carter Bear took matters into his own hands and collected two goals and two assists for a career-high four point game.
Prince George Cougars vs Lethbridge Hurricanes
Another unlikely matchup, this Friday night clash features the highest scoring WHL team in Prince George, and the stingiest one in Lethbridge. After being shutout by the Calgary Hitmen 5-0, the Cougars went into Medicine Hat and put on a clinic, taking that game by a score of 8-1. Minnesota Wild prospect Riley Heidt totaled a goal and two assists in that game, and will be looking for more. Hurricanes goaltender Koen Cleaver comes in 2nd place in the WHL for both save percentage (.938) and goals against average (1.95)
