After an exciting playoffs, it is finally time for the 2025 WHL Championship Series. This year's final will pit the Medicine Hat Tigers against the Spokane Chiefs. The winner of this series will earn a berth in the 2025 Memorial Cup, which is being held in Rimouski, Québec.

Throughout the post-season, the Tigers and Chiefs have just four combined losses. Both also swept their Conference Finals, with Medicine Hat taking down the Lethbridge Hurricanes while Spokane defeated the Portland Winterhawks. This series will also feature two of the top players from the regular season, as Player of the Year Gavin McKeena will face Top Scorer of the Year Andrew Cristall.

This series has the potential to be one of the highest-scoring finals in recent memory. McKeena, Cristall and Berkly Catton all have at least 35 points during the playoffs, while Oasiz Wiesblatt and Shea Van Olm have each eclipsed the 25-point mark. Based on the way these top lines have played, it would not be surprising if by the end of the night, multiple players had at least three points in the game.

Medicine Hat Tigers To Watch During The 2025 WHL Final Medicine Hat Tigers To Watch During The 2025 WHL Final The 2025 WHL Final has been set as the Spokane Chiefs will battle the Medicine Hat Tigers. For Medicine Hat, this marks their first appearance since 2007 where they defeated the Vancouver Giants. This also happens to be their first run past the second round since 2014, falling to the eventual WHL champions in the Edmonton Oil Kings.

While most of the attention will be on the star skaters, goaltending is going to play a massive factor throughout the series. Dawson Cowan and Harrison Meneghin will have their hands full and will need to come up with highlight reel saves on a nightly basis. In the end, this series may be decided by which goaltender is less mentally fatigued, as they will face a ton of shots over the next two weeks.

Spokane Chiefs To Watch During The 2025 WHL Final Spokane Chiefs To Watch During The 2025 WHL Final The 205 WHL Final has been set as the Spokane Chiefs will battle the Medicine Hat Tigers. For Spokane, this will be their first trip to the final since 2008, when they captured their second Memorial Cup. Overall, it is safe to say that the Chiefs dominated throughout the post-season, as they went 12-3-0 while outscoring their opposition 85-59.

Lastly, roster depth will play a significant role throughout this series. Whether that is Bryce Pickford, Hunter St. Martin, Mathis Preston, or Brayden Crampton, it will take a team effort to advance to the Memorial Cup. Yes, the stars will dictate the series, but depth players will play a significant factor in who takes home this year's Ed Chynoweth Cup.

    Predictions:

Dawson Petryshen: Medicine Hat Tigers in 6
Adam Kierszenblat: Spokane Chiefs in 7
