Throughout the season, we at The Hockey News will be keeping track of which WHL teams are in the rankings, as well as who finishes the year ranked highest. Here is a look at the four WHL teams that made the 2026-27 Week 5 rankings.

Spokane Chiefs- 4th

Jumping from ninth to fourth this week were the Spokane Chiefs. Spokane has had a dominant start to the campaign with eight wins and just one loss. The Chiefs are not only an offensive powerhouse with 33 goals in nine games, but have also been masterful defensively, having allowed only 16 goals.

Victoria Royals- 7th

Dropping four spots this week were the Victoria Royals. While Victoria has hit a bit of a rough patch lately, they still sit near the top of the West with a 6-3-0 record.
