A look at which team currently holds the 2026-27 WHL In-Season Cup.
The new addition to the 2026-27 WHL campaign is the In-Season Cup. This league-wide tournament started the campaign with the Everett Silvertips and will transfer to whichever team beats them first. The "Cup" will keep transferring until the end of the year, when the team holding it will be declared champion. Here is an update after Week 6 of the season.
The WHL In-Season Cup had an interesting path this week. After starting with the Calgary Hitmen, the cup was transferred to the Medicine Hat Tigers before heading back to Calgary just a day later. The Hitmen wrapped up their week having to defend the trophy once more as they defeated the Saskatoon Blades in overtime.
Calgary will defend the In-Season Cup during Week 7. They will need to fend off the Red Deer Rebels on Friday before taking on the Kamloops Blazers Sunday afternoon. If the Hitmen pick up two wins, the In-Season Cup will stay in the Eastern Conference until at least December 6.
