Standouts From Week 6 Of The 2026-27 WHL Season
Welcome to THN's "WHL Standouts Of The Week" article. In this weekly column, we highlight one player from each division who impressed over the last week. Here are four standouts from Week 6 of the 2026-27 season.
Mathis Preston- Vancouver Giants
Mathis Preston is heating up, which is bad news for the rest of the WHL. The Vancouver Giants winger finished the week with six points in three games, which included a hat trick against the Prince George Cougars. With 16 points in 12 games, Preston is a big reason why Vancouver finds itself near the top of the Western Conference.

Carter Sanderson continues to be a goal-scoring machine in the WHL. The Calgary Hitmen captain added to his total this week by scoring four times and recording six points in four games. Sanderson is now up to 15 goals this season and is an early favourite for the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy.
Bennett Byers- Everett Silvertips
Bennett Byers is having an impressive start to his WHL career. The Everett Silvertips goaltender started three games this week, where he stopped 83 of the 91 shots he faced. If Byers can keep playing at this level, the wins will follow.
Liam Pue- Regina Pats
Liam Pue continues to develop into a future star. The Regina Pats forward scored four goals in two games, which included a hat trick against the Moose Jaw Warriors. Pue now sits with 18 points in 11 games and is starting to get some Team Canada World Junior buzz.
