A deep dive into the San Jose Sharks WHL prospect pool.
Welcome to this edition of the 2026 WHL Prospect Pools. Throughout the 2026 off-season, we will be looking at current or recently graduated WHLers who have been drafted or signed by NHL clubs. Today's organization is the San Jose Sharks.
The Sharks have made a sizeable investment in WHL players. Last season, four players in San Jose's organization played in the WHL. Here is a look at all five.
First up is Kelowna Rockets captain Carson Wetsch. The 20-year-old forward had a strong final WHL campaign with 72 points in 65 games. Drafted 82nd overall in 2024, Wetsch has signed his entry-level contract and will be headed to the AHL next season.
Kicking off the 2025 class is goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen. Drafted 30th overall, the 19-year-old went 32-13-0 with the Prince George Cougars and was part of Canada's 2026 World Juniors team. Ravensbergen is NCAA-bound next year as he has committed to Michigan State University.

Selected 150th overall, the 20-year-old had a strong rookie campaign as he recorded 63 points in 63 games. Heise's WHL career will only last one season as he is headed next year to the University of Denver.
Finally, the newest member of the Sharks organization is defenceman Ryan Lin. The 18-year-old was drafted 21st overall in June and recorded 57 points in 53 games with the Vancouver Giants. Lin is also headed to the NCAA, where he will join Heise at the University of Denver.
