Welcome to this edition of the 2026 WHL Prospect Pools. Throughout the 2026 off-season, we will be looking at current or recently graduated WHLers who have been drafted or signed by NHL clubs. Today's organization is the Winnipeg Jets.
Here is a look at the WHL prospects currently navigating the Jets' system including, Noa Ta'amu and Owen Martin.
Selected in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2026 NHL Draft, Ta'amu made history by becoming the first player of Samoan heritage to ever be selected in the NHL Draft. The 6-foot-2, 227-pound left-shot defenseman from the Edmonton Oil Kings is an absolute force on the blue line.
Drafted in the third round (92nd overall) in 2025, Martin proved to be a highly effective two-way forward during a breakout campaign for the Spokane Chiefs. The Oakbank, Manitoba native tallied 56 points in 65 games.
