There are now three Great Walls: One in China, one in Medicine Hat, and one in Calgary.

Goaltenders Jordan Switzer (Medicine Hat Tigers) and Daniel Hauser (Calgary Hitmen) are chasing down a record set by former WHL goaltender Chris Worthy in the 1967-68 season, the longest shutout streak by a single goaltender. The mark to beat? A mammoth time of 265 minutes and 13 seconds, spanning nearly four full games.

Of the two netminders this season, Switzer is closer; he boasts a time of 209 minutes and 43 seconds, the last goal allowed being at the 9:43 mark of the second period in  a February 12 clash against the Prince Albert Raiders. The Tigers would go on to win that game, and have been unstoppable since.

In the Central division, Hauser is no joke. Last allowing a goal at the 3:23 mark of the third period against the Swift Current Broncos on February 17, his number stands at 183 minutes and 23 seconds. In addition to this record, Hauser is also hot on the heels on the all-time WHL goaltender wins record: just six games shy of former Saskatoon Blade Nolan Maier's 122-win career.

While the former of the two is the only one eligible to break the record in his next start, fans should not be shocked if both Switzer and Hauser come knocking at Worthy's door very soon. Hauser starts on Sunday against the Kelowna Rockets, and Switzer's next start will be decided by the Tigers coaching staff.
