Every week, the CHL releases a list of the top-10 teams in the league. Throughout the season, we at The Hockey News will be keeping track of which WHL teams are in the rankings, as well as who finishes the year ranked highest. Here is a look at the three WHL teams that made the Week 12 rankings.
The Everett Silvertips have held the No. 1 spot for a third consecutive week after passing a gruelling road test through the Central Division. Everett won four of five games during their Alberta swing, showcasing a relentless offence that averaged 4.6 goals per game. With a CHL-best 45 victories and an incredible record of 17-2-0-0 since the calendar flipped to 2026, the Silvertips have established themselves as the clear favourites for the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy.
Rounding out the top three, the Prince Albert Raiders continue to be a model of consistency, staying among the CHL’s elite for a fifth straight week. The Raiders collected six of a possible eight points over the last seven days, fueled by a defence that has allowed the fewest goals in the Eastern Conference. Prince Albert is currently on a dominant 25-4-1-0 run over their last 30 games.
The expansion Penticton Vees moved up two spots to No. 7 this week after extending their point streak to five games (4-0-0-1). In doing so, the Vees reached 35 wins, tying the WHL record for most victories by an expansion franchise in its inaugural season. Led by New York Islanders prospect Jacob Kvasnicka, Penticton remains on pace to challenge the all-time CHL inaugural-season wins benchmark.
The Medicine Hat Tigers come in at No. 9 this week, remaining a fixture in the national rankings for the 12th consecutive week. While a tight overtime loss to Everett slightly dampened their weekend, the Tigers bounced back with a massive 10-1 victory over the Red Deer Rebels on Monday.
