The Victoria Royals and Tri-City Americans have pulled off an off-season blockbuster trade.
The Victoria Royals and Tri-City Americans have completed a blockbuster trade. Victoria has acquired 19-year-old forward Savin Virk from Tri-City in exchange for 17-year-old forward Eli McKamey. The Royals also received a second-round pick in the 2027 CHL Import Draft and a sixth-round pick in the 2030 WHL Prospects Draft, while the Americans acquired a first-round pick in the 2027 CHL Import Draft and a third-round pick in the 2030 WHL Prospects Draft.
Virk recently finished his second WHL season with Tri-City. Last year, he scored 27 goals while recording 65 points in 66 games. Virk has already committed to the NCAA for the 2027-28 season, where he will be playing for Michigan State University.
As for McKamey, last year was his rookie campaign in the WHL. In 48 games, he scored six goals while recording 17 points. McKamey is also NCAA-bound for the 2027-28 season, as he will be headed to the University of North Dakota.
