Wenatchee Wild Coach Closing In On WHL's All-Time Wins Record

Don Nachbaur is on the verge of making WHL history. During a victory over the Everett Silvertips, the Wenatchee Wild coach picked up his 742nd career regular-season win. This ties him for second all-time with legendary coach Ken Hodge.

The current all-time leader for wins is Don Hay, who picked up 752 during his historic career. The 72-year-old won four Memorial Cups during his coaching career and was recently behind the bench for the Kelowna Rockets as an assistant coach. Hay also holds the WHL record for playoff wins as a head coach with 108.

It is only a matter of time before Nachbaur breaks Hay's record. The 67-year-old has been named WHL Coach of the Year three times during his career and has represented Canada on the international stage multiple times. The Wild are next in action on October 9 when they battle the Portland Winterhawks.
