Standouts From Week 3 Of The 2026-27 WHL Season

Welcome to THN's "WHL Standouts Of The Week" article. In this weekly column, we highlight one player from each division who impressed over the last week. Here are four standouts from Week 3 of the 2026-27 season.

Kaeden Tate is off to a hot start in the WHL. The Kamloops Blazers goaltender stopped 39 of the 41 shots he faced on Friday as he picked up his second win of the campaign. Tate has begun his WHL career undefeated as he is now 4-0-0 with a save percentage of .938.

Poul Andersen just can't stop scoring. The Red Deer Rebels forward found the back of the net six times this weekend, including a four-goal outing on Saturday. With 14 points in seven games, Andersen is now at the top of the WHL scoring list.

Tyus Sparks just keeps getting better week after week. The Spokane Chiefs forward finished the weekend with a goal and five points over three games. Sparks' offence has been key for Spokane as the Chiefs improved to 5-0-0 this season.

Acquiring Kayd Ruedig this off-season looks like a genius move for the Swift Current Broncos. The 19-year-old defenceman lit the lamp three times this weekend and is currently on a four-game point streak. With 137 regular-season games under his belt, Ruedig leads by example night after night.
