Charlotte Checkers forward Aidan McDonough was named AHL Player of The Week.

The 24-year-old recorded four goals in two games in the AHL's opening week, including a hat trick in his team's season opener, giving him the early league lead in goals.

All four goals came at even strength and two were game winning goals.

McDonough signed a one-year AHL contract with Charlotte in July and attended Florida Panthers camp on a PTO before being sent back to the AHL.

The Milton, MA, native recorded 19 points in 58 games last season with the Abbotsford Canucks. He has one goal in six NHL games, all with the Vancouver Canucks.

He originally signed a two-year entry level deal with the Canucks in 2023 after wrapping up with NCAA career with Northeastern University.
