Boston Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm has not played since getting injured during the Original Six club's Nov. 12 contest against the St. Louis Blues. While he has been skating on his own, his return won't be coming soon.

While speaking to the media, general manager Don Sweeney announced that Lindholm is unlikely to return this season due to a fractured patella.

This is awful news for the Bruins. Lindholm is one of their best defensemen, and they are fighting to claim a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Being without Lindholm for the rest of the season will make that far more difficult.

Lindholm has appeared in 17 games this season with the Bruins, where he has three goals, seven points, and a minus-7 rating.
