These former Bruins could be on the move before the deadline passes.

The Boston Bruins are preparing for what should be a busy week for them. Their struggles as of late could lead to some changes to their roster with the trade deadline just about here.

However, interestingly, some former Bruins players could be on the move this week, too. There have been plenty of rumblings that the Pittsburgh Penguins are open to moving both Reilly Smith and Noel Acciari.

The Penguins have had a disappointing 2023-24 season, and it is apparent that they would benefit by making some moves. Smith has been generating plenty of trade chatter and is viewed as a top trade target because the fit has not been there in Pittsburgh.

Smith, 32, would be a big addition to a playoff club looking to add some scoring and experience to their middle six. In 53 games this season, he has 10 goals and 26 points.

As for Acciari, the Fourth Period reported that Pittsburgh is willing to hear offers for almost all of their players, and the Rhode Island native has garnered some interest. Given his experience and style of play, it makes sense that teams are reportedly eyeing him.

Acciari, 32, is a hard-nosed bottom-six forward who plays both down the middle and on the wing. In 45 games this season, he has three goals, two assists, and 101 hits.

It will be interesting to see if either of these two former Bruins get dealt before the deadline passes from here.

In 163 games with the Bruins over two seasons, Smith had 33 goals and 91 points. As for Acciari, he had 18 goals and 31 points in 180 games as a Bruin.
