The Boston Bruins are still searching for their next head coach, but some frontrunners for the position have now been revealed
According to ESPN's Kevin Weekes, Jay Woodcroft, Mitch Love, and Marco Sturm are all favorites for the Bruins' head coaching job. However, he also noted that the trio are favorites for the vacant bench boss jobs for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Seattle Kraken as well.
Woodcroft, 48, was previously the head coach of the Edmonton Oilers from 2021-22 to 2023-24. In 133 games as the Oilers' bench boss, he had a 79-41-13 record. His time with the Oilers ended early during the 2023-24 campaign when Edmonton started the year with a 3-9-1 record. This was after the Oilers had a 50-23-9 record in 2022-23 under Woodcroft, which was the only season he spent the entire year as Edmonton's coach.
