The Boston Bruins have several pending free agents as we inch closer to July 1. The most notable is breakout forward Morgan Geekie, who is eligible to become a restricted free agent.

In what was a disastrous 2024-25 season for the Bruins, Geekie broke out and blossomed into one of their top stars. In 77 games on the season, the 6-foot-3 forward set new career highs with 33 goals, 24 assists, and 57 points. With this, he is certainly due for a nice raise this summer.

While speaking with the Boston Herald's Steve Conroy, Bruins general manager Don Sweeney provided an update on the contract talks between Geekie and the team.

"We've been in constant communication with Morgan's camp since the time the season ended. I have no issues with the timeline of our discussions," Sweeney said. "We'd like to get it done. We know that it's going to be somewhere between a one- and an eight-year deal. How's that?"

Sweeney sharing that he is working very hard to re-sign Geekie is undoubtedly great to hear. No. 39 is one of the players who the retooling Bruins should be building around, especially when noting that he formed incredible chemistry with superstar forward David Pastrnak this campaign.

Getting Geekie signed is clearly one of the top priorities the Bruins should have this off-season. It will be fascinating to see what his next deal looks like, but there is no question that he is due for a significant raise from his current $2 million salary.
