The Boston Bruins do not hold a playoff spot with the trade deadline less than a week away. Because of this, multiple players on the Bruins' roster have come up in the rumor mill. One of the most notable is pending unrestricted free agent Justin Brazeau.
Brazeau should generate interest around the league, as he is a big winger who chips in offensively and hits. He also has a bargain $775,000 cap hit, which makes him easy to afford. Thus, let's go over three teams that could look to acquire the 6-foot-6 winger by the deadline now.
The Kings stand out as a possible landing spot for Brazeau. One of their top objectives is to add another right winger, so Brazeau could grab their eye. This is especially so when noting that the trade market doesn't have too many right wingers on it at this stage.
If the Kings acquired Brazeau, he could slot well on their fourth line with Tanner Jeannot and Trevor Lewis. However, as he has done with the Bruins this season, he can move up the lineup when needed. Overall, he could simply be an effective depth piece for a Kings team looking to go on a run.
The Capitals are on the hunt for more forward depth, so a player like Brazeau could grab their attention. They could use a boost at right wing in their bottom six, and Brazeau would give them that if acquired.
When looking at the Capitals' lineup, Brazeau could be a solid replacement for Ethen Frank on the club's third line with Andrew Mangiapane and Lars Eller. However, he also could be effective on their fourth line with Brandon Duhaime and Nic Dowd.
Like the Capitals, the Jets are looking to add to their forward group by the deadline. If they acquired Brazeau, he would give them a cheap depth forward to work with as they prepare for the post-season.
Brazeau would provide the Jets another solid option for their bottom six and could form a nice trio with Alex Iafallo and Rasmus Kupari on the fourth line.
