Boston Bruins prospect Georgii Merkulov is finally getting rewarded again for his excellent play. The Bruins have announced that they have recalled Merkulov, forward Jeffrey Viel, and defenseman Ian Mitchell from the Providence Bruins.
These are not the only roster moves that the Bruins have made, as they also have reassigned Oliver Wahlstrom, Riley Tufte, and Michael Callahan to Providence.
This Merkulov call-up was long overdue, as the 24-year-old forward has been tearing up the AHL as of late. In his last 17 games with Providence, he has six goals and 17 points. With this hot streak, he now has 13 goals and 44 points in 47 games. He will now look to translate some of that kind of play over to Boston's roster from here.
