Boston Bruins forward Justin Brazeau was an excellent story for the Original Six club this season. After spending three years with the Providence Bruins, Brazeau earned his first NHL contract with Boston in February and stuck with the squad after.
Brazeau, 26, made an immediate impact for the Bruins once he joined their NHL roster. He gave their bottom six not only more size and grit but also some solid offense. In 19 games with the Bruins this season, he had five goals, seven points, 43 hits, and a plus-4 rating.

His best play came on March 16-March 23, as he had four goals and five points over a three-game span. At that juncture of the season, he was cementing himself as a crucial part of the Bruins' bottom six and even found a home on their power play.
However, on April 2 against the Nashville Predators, Brazeau suffered an upper-body injury after a collision with Luke Schenn. On April 10, Jim Montgomery shared with reporters that Brazeau is not close to returning, which is just a tough blow.
There's no question that the Bruins are missing Brazeau right now. The Ontario native was making a notable impact for the club, and not having his secondary scoring and grit with the playoffs just about here stings.
