Brad Marchand is truly an elite player.
The Boston Bruins secured a big 6-4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday (April 13). Brad Marchand played a part in the win, as the captain scored a big shorthanded goal, which gave Boston a 4-1 lead.
This shorthanded goal was a huge one, as it put Marchand in some elite company. It was Marchand's 36th career shorty, and it tied him with Detroit Red Wings legend Sergei Fedorov on the NHL's all-time shorthanded goals list.
Throughout his career, Marchand has been one of the NHL's top penalty-killers, and this latest accomplishment only proves that. No. 63 also has time left in his career where he could pass Dave Poulin, Jari Kurri, and Butch Goring on the list, too.

Nevertheless, it has been a big year for Marchand. He hit the 1,000-game and 400-goal marks, and now he is climbing up the shorthanded goals list.
