This Bruins goalie reportedly had multiple suitors at the deadline.

This Bruins goalie reportedly had multiple suitors at the deadline.

Boston Bruins star goalie Linus Ullmark was discussed heavily on deadline day. Kevin Weekes reported that Ullmark blocked a trade "in large part based on geography." Frank Seravalli also shared that the club was the Los Angeles Kings.

However, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has now provided us with more intriguing trade information regarding Ullmark in his latest Saturday Headlines report:

"And as we all know now, there was a team that was on his no-trade list, which he did not waive to, which is his right. That is his contractual right. However, I think there's also a second part to this. I do believe the Bruins as well had conversations with some teams that he cannot block a trade to. And obviously, those teams did not occur, but I think in a couple of cases, they were punted into the offseason. So, I think this is going to be something that’s going to pick up again after the season. But right now, the sense of, the Bruins obviously couldn’t get anything done, and we’re in a situation where we’re gonna see where this goes after the season is over."

With this report from Friedman, it is clear that Ullmark was not only a hot commodity on the trade market, but the possibility of him getting dealt during the summer is very much there. It is understandable, as they have other weaknesses that they could address by moving Ullmark. With that, fellow star goaltender Jeremy Swayman is due for another big-time raise this offseason.

Ullmark, 30, would be a game-changing addition for a team needing to improve their goaltending. He is the reigning Vezina Trophy winner, after all, and he is having a strong 2023-24 campaign as well. When thinking of a few specific clubs who could be in the market for goalie help this offseason, the New Jersey Devils, Carolina Hurricanes, and Colorado Avalanche stand out as possible suitors.

Nevertheless, the Bruins have a big decision to make with Ullmark this offseason. Yet, for now, he will continue to form the NHL's top goalie tandem with Swayman as the Bruins look to go on a run this postseason.
