After a disastrous 2024-25 season, the Boston Bruins should look to improve their roster this off-season. They have cap space to work with, so it would not be surprising in the slightest if they are aggressive this summer.
When looking at their roster, one clear need they have is another top-six winger. Because of this, let's go over three wingers who the Bruins should seriously consider targeting this offseason.
Boeser could be a player who grabs the Bruins' attention this off-season. If they brought him in, he would offer them a clear option for their hole at the second-line right wing spot. That is something they have needed since Jake DeBrusk signed with the Vancouver Canucks last off-season.
In 75 games this season with the Canucks, Boeser posted 25 goals and 50 points. This is after he set career highs with 40 goals and 73 points in 81 games with Vancouver during the 2023-24 season. Overall, the two-time All-Star would give the Bruins another impactful offensive weapon in their top six and power play if signed, so he could be worth pursuing.
Tuch is another interesting right winger who could make a lot of sense for the Bruins. However, unlike Boeser, he is not a pending UFA and is instead entering the final season of his contract with the Buffalo Sabres. Thus, if the Bruins wanted to land Tuch, they would need to acquire him through trade.
Like Boeser, Tuch would be an obvious choice for the Bruins' second-line right wing spot. The 29-year-old is coming off an impressive season, posting 36 goals, 67 points, 73 hits, and a plus-16 rating in 82 games. He also had 79 points in 74 games with Buffalo back in 2022-23, so he can be a real difference-maker when playing at his best.
Ehlers is another notable free agent who could make sense for the Bruins. The 29-year-old had a strong season with the Winnipeg Jets this year, recording 24 goals, 63 points, and a plus-14 rating. With numbers like these, he could slot nicely on the Bruins' second line at left wing and on their power play.
Ehlers has also scored at least 21 goals eight times over his 10-year career and has recorded four seasons with at least 60 points. This would be great production for the Original Six Club to bring to Boston.
