Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic left the club's Feb. 25 matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs early after suffering an injury. Now, an update on the Bruins gritty winger has been provided, and it is far from ideal.
According to Chris Johnston of The Athletic and TSN, Frederic will be out week-to-week due to a lower-body injury. The NHL insider also noted that Frederic could still be moved by the deadline, even after suffering this injury.
With Frederic out week-to-week and the trade deadline only eight days away, there is a real possibility that the power forward has played his last game in Boston. He has been the subject of trade rumors all season. They have only ramped up with the deadline rapidly approaching and the Bruins not holding a playoff spot.
In 57 games this season with the Bruins, the 2016 first-round pick has eight goals, seven assists, 155 hits, and a minus-14 rating.
