However, this game was particularly notable for Bruins forward Morgan Geekie. The 26-year-old forward hit a big milestone in the matchup, as he scored his 30th goal of the season. In addition, he also had an assist on the night.
Geekie has taken another significant step forward for the Bruins this season, and hitting the 30-goal mark for the first time in his career demonstrates that further. The 2017 third-round pick has simply thrived down the stretch, scoring eight goals and recording 18 points in his last 11 contests alone. With this, he now has a career-high 53 points in 74 games this season.
Overall, while this season has been a complete bust for the Bruins, Geekie has been one of the club's best stories from it. He has blossomed into a legitimate top-six forward, and he now can say he's a 30-goal scorer because of it.
