This Bruins star is being viewed as a prime trade candidate.
The Boston Bruins could be in for a big 2024 NHL Offseason. For the first time in a while, they are entering the summer with a plethora of cap space (projected $21.6 million) and will be in a position to do some serious spending because of it. However, besides making moves in free agency, there's clear reason to believe that they will be active in the trade market as well.
In a recent article for the Bleacher Report, Lyle Richardson predicted eight stars who have a shot of being placed on the trade block this offseason. Among them was Bruins netminder Linus Ullmark.

Given all of the trade chatter surrounding Ullmark leading up to the deadline, this prediction is entirely justifiable. The star goalie reportedly blocked a trade at the deadline, as the rumored club was on his 16-team no-trade list. Fellow star goaltender Jeremy Swayman is also due for a big-time raise and is their long-term answer between the pipes. That also may make Ullmark expendable for the right price.
Richardson also argued that Ullmark being a year away from unrestricted free agency could make the Bruins look to move him. This is understandable, as he's far too valuable of an asset to potentially lose in free agency. With that, moving out his $5 million cap hit would only create more cap space for Boston to work with.
Nevertheless, the Bruins have a big decision to make with Ullmark this summer. However, for now, their goal is to finish the season on a strong note and try to go on a real playoff run.
