Boston Bruins management confirmed shortly after the end of their season that they are conducting a search for their next head coach. They specifically noted that interim head coach Joe Sacco is in the mix, but they are going to consider all of their options before making their decision.

Following the draft lottery, Bruins general manager Don Sweeney provided an update on where things are currently at with the club's head coaching search.

"Ongoing," Sweeney said. "I have spoken to some coaches. Haven't done any in-person interviews yet, but we've narrowed a list down, and we're going to move forward with some Zoom interviews and then in-person interviews in a very short matter."

With this update from Sweeney, it is clear that the Bruins are starting to make progress with their coaching search, but they still have not made their final decision. Once they start interviewing their candidates, they should have a clearer picture of who they plan to hire.

This will certainly be something to keep an eye on from here. Whoever lands the head coaching job will have the tough challenge of trying to lead the Bruins back into the playoffs after a disastrous 2024-25 season.
