Former Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk left the Pittsburgh Penguins' Feb. 23 contest against the New York Rangers early after suffering an upper-body injury.

Grzelcyk was injured after receiving a hard hit from Rangers forward Matt Rempe. The former Bruins blueliner's head was notably hit into the glass, and he stayed down on the ice in evident discomfort.

Following the hit, Rempe was given a five-minute major. However, after the play was reviewed, it was changed to a two-minute minor penalty for interference.

Grzelcyk signed a one-year, $2.75 million contract with the Penguins this past off-season after the Bruins elected not to bring him back. In 58 games this season with the Penguins, he has one goal and has set new career highs with 27 assists and 28 points.

Here's to hoping that Grzelcyk has a speedy recovery from here.
