This former Bruins forward is getting a big opportunity from his new club.
Former Boston Bruins forward Anthony Richard is getting a big opportunity, as he has been called up to the Philadelphia Flyers' NHL roster.
This is Richard's first time on the Flyers' roster during the regular-season. The 27-year-old forward signed a two-year contract with the Flyers this past off-season after spending the 2023-24 campaign with the Bruins organization.
This season, Richard has been off to a great start with the Flyers' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In seven games, he has four goals and nine points. Thus, he certainly earned this opportunity with Philly.
Richard had one goal and three points in nine games with Boston this past season. He had an excellent campaign down with the Providence Bruins, posting 25 goals and 55 points in 59 games.
From here, it will be interesting to see how well Richard performs during this call-up. If he impresses, it will improve his chances of sticking on the NHL roster.
