
Former Boston Bruins forward Ryan Spooner is officially set to play his seventh consecutive season in the KHL.
The Shanghai Dragons of the KHL have announced that they have signed Spooner. With this, he should now be a key part of the Dragons' roster moving forward.
Spooner spent this past season with Avangard Omsk, where he posted eight goals, 31 assists, 39 points, and a plus-8 rating. This was after the former Bruin recorded his KHL career-highs with 23 goals, 38 assists, and 61 points in 65 games with Avangard Omsk in 2023-24. Now, Spooner will be looking to get his offense back up to these totals after signing with the Dragons.

Since joining the KHL during the 2019-20 season, Spooner certainly has made an impact offensively. In 307 career KHL games, the 33-year-old center has recorded 77 goals, 180 assists, and 257 points.
Spooner was selected by the Bruins with the 45th overall pick of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. In 253 games with the Bruins over six seasons, he recorded 41 goals, 101 assists, and 142 points. His time with the Bruins ended during the 2017-18 season, as he was traded to the New York Rangers in the deal that sent Rick Nash to Boston.
