Things are heating up with the Boston Bruins' coaching search, and the expectation is that the Original Six club will make their decision soon. They have been linked to multiple coaches during their search, and this includes former Bruins forward Marco Sturm.
During the latest episode of 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman provided a new update regarding Sturm and the Bruins' talks.
"As we record this, late Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, I'm under the impression Sturm is supposed to still visit Boston," Friedman said. "Now, whether that's to do another interview or be given the job, I can't say that as we record it. But he's very much in it, and I'm under the impression that he's supposed to visit the Bruins."
This is certainly an interesting update from Friedman, and time will tell if this expected visit leads to Sturm getting the job. He is not the only name who has been linked to the Bruins' vacant bench boss job, however, as coaches like Mitch Love, Jay Woodcroft, Jay Leach, and Joe Sacco have also come up.
Nevertheless, it will be fascinating to see if Sturm ends up being the Bruins' pick for their next head coach from here. Would you like to see the Bruins hire Sturm? Let your thoughts be known in the comments.
