Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports - Milan Lucic Domestic Assault Case Dropped

The Boston Bruins have always loved their players to have grit and tenacity. One such player that fits that mold who they brought back to the organization this past off-season was Milan Lucic.

Lucic has been on an indefinite leave of absence from the team since a "domestic incident" took place on the night of November 17th, 2023. The following day he was arrested and took his official leave.

On Tuesday November 21st he pleaded 'not guilty' to charges of assault and battery towards his wife. After his not guilty plea he was released on personal recognizance bail according to The Associated Press.

There is a new development on the case this morning, as today is the official trial date.

According to Flint McColgan of the Boston Herald the domestic assault case against Lucic has been dropped.

A motion to use the 911 phone recording of the alleged victim was denied by the judge, McColgan wrote in a piece published earlier today. The victim also refused to testify - leaving the prosecution with no case.

Lucic's lawyer spoke outside of the court following the case being dropped. He told press that Lucic is "looking forward to getting his life back".
