This Boston Bruins prospect needs to be watched very closely this upcoming season.

Right before the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, the Boston Bruins acquired the 25th overall pick from the Ottawa Senators as one of the pieces in the Linus Ullmark trade. With this, the Bruins had a pick in the first round for the first time since 2021 (Fabian Lysell). With their 2024 first-rounder, the Bruins opted to go a bit off the board and select Dean Letourneau.
Letourneau, 18, is certainly a very intriguing prospect for the Bruins to add to their system. The 6-foot-7, 210-pound center has naturally created excitement about his size, but there's much more to his game. Besides being an effective physical player, he also moves quickly and has been praised for his strong offensive skill and instincts.
Letourneau showed immense promise this past season with St. Andrew's College, posting 61 goals and 127 points in 56 games for the prep school. Now, he is set to move up to the NCAA level, where he will play for Boston College in 2024-25.

Letourneau will need some time at the collegiate level before making the jump to the NHL. While this is the case, he is a prospect Bruins fans should feel a lot of excitement about. The potential for him to develop into an impactful power forward at the NHL level is undoubtedly there, so he could become a steal for the Bruins later down the road. With the Bruins needing help down the middle, having a prospect like Letourneau is a very good thing.
It will be fun to see how Letourneau performs in his first season with Boston College. He is a prospect to watch incredibly closely from here.
