Lindy Ruff is ready to get his second stint as the Sabres' coach started.
At the end of the 2023-24 season, the Buffalo Sabres parted ways with Don Granato. Shortly after, they brought back Lindy Ruff as their head coach, and now the longtime bench boss has the big task of getting the Sabres back to being a playoff team.
Ruff has shown plenty of excitement about his return to Buffalo, and that carried over to Wednesday's Blue & Gold Insights event.
While speaking to the attendees, Ruff shared a powerful message:
"I feel a tremendous responsibility to everybody in this room to work as hard as I possibly can - to get these players to believe in themselves, to love being a Buffalonian, to love being a Buffalo Sabre, and to love winning hockey games in this building."
This is a great message from Ruff. It is clear that he not only has high expectations for the Sabres players but also himself. He wants this club to take that next step finally, and his words should speak volumes to the players.
Can we just get to the 2024-25 season already?
