The Sabres should keep an eye on this Maple Leafs player.

The Buffalo Sabres are gearing up for a big offseason. With the club looking to break their 13-year playoff drought, the expectation is that they will be aggressive this summer. Two of their top needs are a top-six winger and a top-nine center.
While there is no question that the Sabres should look to improve their forward group, it is fair to wonder if they will add to their goalie depth this summer. Eric Comrie is not expected back, and the Sabres could use a veteran goalie in their system. This is especially true if they feel Devon Levi would benefit from a bit more time in the AHL.
Because of this, one goalie they should keep an eye on in free agency is Martin Jones. The veteran worked quite well as the Maple Leafs' third-string goalie and could do the same for Buffalo.

Jones, 34, was effective when used by the Maple Leafs in 2023-24, as he posted an 11-8-1 record, a .902 SV%, and a 2.87 GAA in 22 appearances. Overall, he showed he is still a serviceable backup option at the NHL level.
If the Sabres signed Jones to a one-year deal, he would provide them with a solid depth goaltender with plenty of experience. As a result, it is an avenue worth considering.
