Sabres Should Steal Forward from Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Max Domi are both interested in keeping their relationship going. However, at this time, it is not set in stone that a new deal will occur. The Maple Leafs have several other big decisions to make and are also expected to build on their blueline and goaltending.

If Domi hits the free-agent market on July 1, he will surely generate a lot of interest around the NHL. This is because he is not only impactful offensively but also plays a heavy game and is an effective agitator. With the Buffalo Sabres' forward group needing a boost, he is someone who they should have on their radar.

The Sabres are expected to add a top-nine center to their roster this offseason, and Domi would be a perfect option. However, he also offers excellent versatility, so he could also be the much-needed impactful winger that they have been looking for.

It is not a secret that the Sabres' forward group could use more snarl and bite, too. When noting that Domi recorded 118 penalty minutes this season, he certainly provides that.

Domi, 29, appeared in 80 games this season with the Maple Leafs, where he had nine goals, 47 points, and a plus-10 rating.
